IPCC WGI 2021 Report Takeaways

Global warming is a type of climate change characterized by a general increase in Earth's average temperatures, which has a long-term impact on weather patterns and ecosystems. It's linked to an increase in greenhouse gases in our atmosphere, which exacerbates the greenhouse effect.

In fact, since the end of the nineteenth century, the planet's average temperature has risen by 0.8 degrees Celsius (33.4 degrees Fahrenheit). Since the commencement of statistical surveys in 1850, each of the last three decades has been warmer than the prior three decades.

The greenhouse effect is an unavoidable consequence of global warming. The increase in greenhouse gases, on the other hand, is due to human activity. It's no wonder, then, that the world's top climate scientists believe human activities are the primary driver of global warming since the mid-twentieth century.

Global warming control measures:

Recycle more

The aim is to cut down the amount of carbon dioxide released in the environment. By recycling half of your household waste, you may save 2,400 pounds of CO2 per year.

Use energy-efficient devices

You may cut energy usage and contribute to the creation of clean energy by investing in energy-efficient gadgets such as bulbs, LED lights, or a solar-powered shower system.

One conventional light bulb replaced with a compact fluorescent light bulb saves 150 pounds of CO2 per year. A 10-watt LED bulb that replaces a 60-watt bulb will save you $125 over the life of the bulb.

Gas-smart cars, such as hybrids and fully electric vehicles, save fuel and money.

LED light bulbs consume up to 80% less energy than incandescent lamps.

Save water

Turn off faucets while brushing, take shorter showers, and avoid wasting water by washing your car or bike.

Following these simple guidelines, we can all help to reduce carbon dioxide emissions and prevent global warming, saving the earth for future generations.

Maintain your ride

You could save 1.2 billion gallons of gas each year if all Americans kept their tires properly inflated. A simple tune-up can increase your miles per gallon by 4% to 40%, and a new air filter can increase your mileage by 10%

Plant a tree

A single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime. By collecting carbon dioxide from the air, storing carbon in the trees and soil, and releasing oxygen into the atmosphere, trees assist to mitigate climate change

Avoid products with a lot of packaging

If you cut your rubbish by 10%, you can save 1,200 pounds of carbon dioxide. Packaging accounts for around 5% of the energy consumed in a food product's life cycle, making it a substantial source of greenhouse gas emissions

Responsible consumption

It is critical to adopt ethical consumption habits when it comes to food (especially meat), clothing, cosmetics, and cleaning goods. Last but not least, when it comes to trash management, recycling is a must.
